WebX Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT) Policy
1. Policy Statement
WebX Inc. ("the Company" or "WebX") is committed to preventing its platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other form of financial crime. This Policy is established and implemented in accordance with applicable anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) laws and regulations across relevant jurisdictions, including but not limited to Hong Kong, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
2. Scope of Application
This Policy applies to all users of the WebX platform, including but not limited to individuals, legal entities, and other organizations, regardless of their place of residence, registration, or activity.
3. Know Your Customer (KYC)
To comply with AML regulations and safeguard platform security, WebX conducts Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, which include but are not limited to:
Verifying the name, date of birth, address, and identification documents (e.g., passport or national ID) of individual users;
Collecting business licenses, registration certificates, information on beneficial owners, and directors’ identification for corporate users;
Performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) based on risk levels, especially for users from high-risk jurisdictions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), or users conducting large transactions.
WebX reserves the right to request additional information or documents from users at any time based on risk assessment.
4. Prohibited Activities
Users are strictly prohibited from engaging in the following activities through the WebX platform:
Money laundering or attempted money laundering;
Financing of terrorist activities;
Concealing or disguising the origin of assets;
Transacting with sanctioned countries/regions or individuals/entities on sanctions lists;
Operating anonymous or pseudonymous accounts;
Circumventing any applicable laws or compliance requirements.
5. Transaction Monitoring & Reporting
WebX employs both automated tools and manual review mechanisms to continuously monitor platform transactions in order to identify suspicious activities:
Detecting abnormal transaction patterns (e.g., structuring, large deposits/withdrawals, rapid transfers);
Freezing or suspending accounts or funds flagged as suspicious;
Filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the relevant Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) or regulatory authorities when required.
WebX will cooperate with regulatory authorities by providing user information, transaction records, and investigative assistance upon lawful request.
6. Compliance Training & Internal Oversight
WebX has established a dedicated compliance team responsible for the execution of AML/CFT measures;
Regular training is provided to staff to ensure ongoing compliance awareness;
Internal audit and reporting processes are in place to monitor and update the implementation of this Policy.
7. Record Retention
In accordance with applicable laws, WebX will retain the following records for a minimum of five (5) years:
User identity verification documents;
Transaction and communication records;
Internal memos and suspicious transaction reports.
8. Consequences of Violation
If a user is found to be in violation of this Policy, WebX reserves the right to:
Refuse to provide services;
Freeze or terminate user accounts;
Confiscate funds related to illicit activity;
Report to and cooperate with competent authorities in investigations.
9. Amendments & Updates
WebX reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Users will be notified of changes via website announcement or email. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
